Mahahual after Dean

Dear visitors

On August 22nd, 2007, Hurricane Dean, bore down on the small Caribbean village of Mahahual in Costa Maya, Mexico.

It was the third strongest category 5 storm ever recorded to have made landfall, destroying not only the village, but also its primary source of tourism, the cruise ship pier.

Very soon after the storm, hotels, restaurants & tour operators began operating again. Although cruise ships will not be stopping here for many months to come, Mahahual will continue to rejuvenate, offering more and more services every day.

Many people have given generously to the area since the storm, and for that we are all grateful.

Now we are ready to welcome everyone again with the same warm Caribbean spirit and great service as ever.

See you soon in Mahahual !
