Sorry for not having any news on mahahual for so long, but march has been a pretty busy month, lots of tourists visited mahahual, so we had less time to work on the website.
Semana santa was a beautiful week, the atmosphere was very relaxed. Lots of people from all over the country visited Mahahual to enjoy the wide beaches, to stroll on the new board walk and to have a delicious ceviche or fried fish in one of the many restaurants along the boardwalk who reopened their doors.
New wastbins and plants have been put alongside.
Mexican officials as well as spokesman for the cruise ship pier say that first ships can dock at Costa Maya in july2008. Besides that, the new pier will be able to accommodate huge new ship's.
First contracts have been closed with cruiseship companies to dock at Costa Maya for the coming year.
While nearly all existing businesses have reopened their doors, a lot of construction is going on in Mahahual. Since a few weeks Matan Kaan, a brand new hotel and Mahahuals first "Spa" is open.
