The MesoAmerican Barrier Reef, the second largest in the world, still maintains, even after Dean, the fantastic biodiversity that has made Mahahual a destination for divers from around the world.

Dozens of coral varieties, sponges, sea fans, four different species of turles, tropical
fish, eagle rays, nurse sharks, conch, lobster, and a long list of sea life still thrive in these warm, crystaline waters.

We have been diving many times here after Dean to inspect the reef and take photos.  Parts of the reef are damaged, especially very shallow areas, but the rest looks very positive.  Mahahual still is and will continue to be a perfect destination for diving.

Visit the dive centers pages on this site, and you will find that any one of them will undoubtedly offer you the best service for a few great dives in Mahahual!!!!!
